Read more about it here: Club Med's Chinese owner wants to buy Thomas Cook
An excerpt from CNN Business:
"Fosun (FOSUF), a Chinese conglomerate with health, leisure and financial interests, bought Club Med in 2015. It's the biggest shareholder in Thomas Cook with an 18% stake.
Fosun and Thomas Cook already run a joint hotel venture in China, where they're developing Thomas Cook-branded properties in southern China and near Shanghai. Thomas Cook is a travel company that handles vacation bookings and has its own airline and hotels. But it's struggled with weak demand and high debt."
